In 1889, Alex Parks constructed a two-story brick and limestone building known as Parks Building on the corner of North Old Woodward Avenue and Maple Road. The building housed a meat market that had been on the corner prior to the build.
In 1969, the brick façade was covered over with new travertine façade. The change came along with a new tenant and the building went from three storefronts to one.
In 2020, Boji Group acquired the historic building in the heart of downtown Birmingham and invested $17.5 million for restoration. The buildings original brick faced has been restored and now houses Boji Group headquarters on the second floor and retail space on the ground floor.
The building is one of the most prominent buildings in Michigan and the community is committed to a more walkable, vibrant, and beautiful Birmingham.
